Build Overview

This 22ft x 14ft custom white ash conference table was commissioned by ETFO — the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario. The scale of this build put it in a category of its own: a full governance assembly table designed to seat 30 or more delegates in a formal, institutional setting. At these dimensions, the table functions more like a room feature than a piece of furniture.

Wood Species: Solid White Ash

White ash was chosen for its open, cathedral grain, warm blonde tones, and structural integrity at large panel widths. Compared to maple, ash has a more pronounced figure — lending the table a presence that reads from across a large assembly room. It machines cleanly and accepts hardwax oil finishes exceptionally well, resulting in a surface that feels as refined as it looks.

Construction & Base

At 14 feet wide, this is not a single-run table — the build required precision-engineered panel construction with structural steel integration to maintain flatness and stability across the full surface area. The custom steel legs were fabricated to complement the ash grain with a clean industrial profile, keeping the visual weight low and letting the wood dominate.

Delivery & Installation

Delivered and installed on-site at ETFO's facility by the.Boardroom team. Installations at this scale are coordinated directly with the client — no third-party logistics.
