Build Overview
This 20ft x 4ft custom maple boardroom table was designed and built to order for Canadore College. The brief called for a clean, large-format executive table that could anchor a formal boardroom environment while holding up to daily institutional use.
Wood Species: Solid Hard Maple
Hard maple was selected for this build for its tight, consistent grain, exceptional hardness, and clean neutral tone — qualities that suit both a formal boardroom aesthetic and high-traffic functional demands. The slab was hand-selected from our inventory for figure and flatness before milling began.
Construction & Finish
The table top was built from solid maple with book-matched panel construction to achieve a stable, flat surface at 20 feet. The base was custom fabricated in steel with a powder-coat finish. Surface finish is a satin hardwax oil — durable, repairable, and designed to age with the wood rather than against it.
