This 12ft x 4ft black walnut epoxy river boardroom table was custom designed and built for Polaris Food Company. The brief called for a high-impact executive table that made a statement from the moment you walked into the room — deep walnut grain, a continuous black epoxy river, and a base profile that matched the company's modern aesthetic.
Wood Species: Solid Black Walnut
Black walnut is the most requested species in the.Boardroom's portfolio, and builds like this one illustrate why. The deep chocolate-brown grain with its natural figure reads as genuinely luxurious at boardroom scale — it commands the room without competing with the people in it. The slabs for this build were hand-selected for consistent grain direction and book-matched through the epoxy channel for a seamless visual flow from one end of the table to the other.
The Epoxy River
The epoxy channel runs the full 12-foot length of the table between the two beautiful walnut slabs. Black pigment was selected to complement the dark walnut tone — a black-on-black effect that creates depth without distraction. The epoxy was poured in multiple staged layers to eliminate bubbles and achieve a glass-flat surface flush with the wood.
